I just have a question in determining the amount of titrant used for the test. So if I start with 1ML and I end with 0.46ML left then I would subtract .46 from 1.0 to get 0.54 titrant used. Then I would use 0.54 as my number on the card to get my results. Is this the correct process?
That is correct :-) You compare the amount of titrant used to the chart, so your math looks good to me!
These test kits tend to have a lower than normal freezing temperature and typically we have not received much negative feed back during shipments in winter. If you have any issues or questions feel free to let us know and we will be more than willing to help!

Great Kit By Yuri on 8/1/2016Yuri wouldn't recommend this product to a friendBefore buying this kit, I had the separate Red Sea Pro Mg, KH and an API Ca. It is nice to have all 3 test kits now in one box and having the option to just buy reagents afterwards is a plus. Once you find out that Red Sea updated their color changes and have done the test a few times it's easy as pie.
High quality test kit By Jsl on 7/15/2016Jsl wouldn't recommend this product to a friendHigh quality and pretty easy to use. Gives an accurate reading once you know how to test properly. Red Sea should clarify in the directions that it's normal for there to be an air bubble in the syringe to account for the tip..and to level the plunger with the 1ml line still.
nice kit By john on 7/7/2016john would recommend this product to a friendits a little cumbersome with too many pieces but they are well made. Takes time ti get it down but eventually gets easier
End colors wrong and will change By James on 7/6/2016James wouldn't recommend this product to a friendI loved this test when I first got it. But as I used it and as time went by I noticed things that weren't right. After wondering what the end color really should be, I asked Red Sea. Apparently the end color for the alkalinity test is pink, not red. And it's not even pink, it's clear. The end is as soon as you see any pink at all. Which mean my measurements have been off the whole time. Then there's the expectation. As it gets older the end color for the alkalinity test changes. It's been about a year and the end color is now yellow, it never even gets close to pink or red. The bottle says "Exp. 0517", it's 0716. They also said the Mg and Ca end colors are when you see the first sign of blue, not purple and dark blue. Now I have no idea what to expect from this test and will have to get a different kit to see what my levels are. I don't think I'll be buying anything else from Red Sea any time soon.
Awesome kit! By Erik on 3/29/2016Erik would recommend this product to a friendThis is an awesome test kit, once you get the hang of how to perform the tests, seems complicated but it is not. Pretty accurate and keeps my reef happy! Only thing I don't like is, it's hard to get everything to fit back into the black box once you take it out!
very easy to use test kit By G-man on 3/26/2016G-man would recommend this product to a friendVery easy to use test kit. Also the price is great compared to buying each test kitCRESTWOOD individually.
Magnesium test doesn't work By Brian on 3/25/2016Brian wouldn't recommend this product to a friendBeen reefing for over 3 years now, and I got this product based on BRS recommendation. I like the titrator, but test results are very inaccurate. I do not dose magnesium at all, so there is zero reason as to why my magnesium levels should be any higher than my salt mix (I use reef crystals) but EVERY time I have tested with this kit my magnesium reads 1600 ppm. That is absolutely impossible, magnesium doesn't form out of nowhere in the home aquarium. I can see ALK and calcium levels differing due to many different factors, but not magnesium. Beyond frustrated. Wish I would have just spent the extra $70 and got Hanna checkers for all of these.
Bad kit By Todd C. on 3/10/2016Todd C. wouldn't recommend this product to a friendThe alkalinity test color chart shows are dark red upon complete titration, but no matter how far you take the test, I've never seen anything but a light pink. So this test parameter (for alk) is worthless to me.
Easy & Accurate By Jeffrey on 2/18/2016Jeffrey would recommend this product to a friendI've used API and Salifert before and this is my go-to for Mag, Cal, Alk. Very easy to do and accurate. Very well made too. I like that this is a kit, and a box that stores everything and you just buy re-fills when necessary.
easy to use By Victor on 2/18/2016Victor would recommend this product to a friendwhen I first got it I was intimidated with everything included, but after reading and watching youtube videos it couldn't be easier
got a bad batch By Kevin on 2/16/2016Kevin would recommend this product to a friendI like the quality of the test components but my Alk test is hard to read because it changes from blue to orange to yellow instead of blue to red. I contacted Red sea via email but got no response. CA and MG test work great. I wish red sea would replace my alk test but I can't get a hold of them. Will buy different test when I run out of CA and MG test solution. I have been using the Hanna Alk test and love it!
