ATO By Scott on 5/28/13
Scott would recommend this product to a friendThis works perfectly, easy to use, easy to set up. Very reliable, another great plug n play item. Bought 2 of these, one for each tank. As always BRS has the best price around. Also recommend the auqua lifter pump... -
Awesome By Frederick on 5/16/13
Frederick would recommend this product to a friendThis ATO is great. Although it uses float valves it is perfect when it comes to mantaining the level in my sump. I have a aqualifter pump hooked up to it. -
Simple And Works! By Peter on 5/6/13
Peter would recommend this product to a friendThis is a great product for the price. I use it on my 40 breeder QT tank and have had no problems. -
A must have By Barry on 4/22/13
Barry would recommend this product to a friendI can't believe, I went so long with out one...lol -
Tends to stick By David on 4/14/13
David wouldn't recommend this product to a friendFor the money it is an ok ATO however the floats tend to stick and will mess with your salinity. I had to put both floats in the sump as a safe guard so that if one float fails the other will turn off the ATO. I have had multiple instances were it has nearly overflowed my sump. -
Good, simple ATO By bruce on 4/13/13
bruce would recommend this product to a friendThe JBJ A.T.O. system is a good, simple auto top system. I have been using it with absolutely no problems. My only complaint is I wish there were more mounting options included with the sensors. I think if you are using a traditional system, you would have no problem. My water storage is a little unique, so I had to modify the sensor bracket. -
Worth the money By Chavinpat on 4/8/13
Chavinpat would recommend this product to a friendI love JBJ product. This ATO is well designed and easy to set up. I will order another to use from my freshwater tank. -
I have had the unit work well in my 20 gal nano tank but sometimes the sensor gets invaded by a snail and causes the tank to overfill and my salinity goes to crap! By Louy on 3/27/13
Louy would recommend this product to a friendWhat this unit really needs is a way to double up on the fill sensors. That way if a snail gives one a ride it would not cause the tank to overfill and ruin your salinity. In other words, the unit would have to recognize when both sensors are calling for top off water to come on. -
well worth the money By Chris on 3/25/13
Chris would recommend this product to a friendwell constructed, and love the ability to use in many different ways.. I can't believe, I went so long with out one...lol -
Simple By Ryan on 3/21/13
Ryan would recommend this product to a friendThe JBJ ATO is a very simple design. It has a nice looking control module that nicely mounts to the inside of my tank stand, hidden but still up off anything that might get wet. The only drawback I had was that there was no good way to mount one of the sensors in my RODI reservoir so it kind of just floats around in it. -
Grea, with small set-back By Tommer on 3/12/13
Tommer would recommend this product to a friendThis is a great ATO switch. The only thing that I don't like is that the ATO checks every ten seconds to see if it is full and then turns off. So on a smaller tank that not turning off for possibly 10 seconds might cause salinity swings.

Will any Rio pump work for this? It doesn't come with a pump right?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Justin,
You are correct, the unit itself does not come with a pump. The jbj ATO itself just controls a standard outlet. From there you can plug in any standard AC pump of your choosing. -

What pump should I use for the jbj a.t.o. Water level controller
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Thomas,
Really any pump that will go the required distance and height will work just fine. For really short runs of a few feet or less the Aqualifter pumps are very popular.

JBJ ATO Self-Leveling Controller Features:
Float Sensors
The A.T.O. is equipped with (2) float sensors that activate within seconds when your water level drops and automatically refills your sump or tank until it reaches your desired set point. Each float sensor has been designed with an exterior guard preventing snails & hermit crabs from attaching to the sensors.
Electronic Controller Module
Our state-of-the-art electronic controller allows for (2) modes of operation with a total of (3) different set up scenarios, allowing you more choices for installation for your unique set up. Our compact controller also incorporates a visible L.E.D. panel and an Audible Signal alerts when in operation mode.
Linkable Brackets
The kit includes commercial grade "Linkable Brackets" that can easily be adjusted to meet your height requirements, and securely positions your float sensors. No suction cups to lead to disastrous water spillage.
Pump Safety Protection
The A.T.O. automatically stops power to your return pump in your reservoir, in the event that your reservoir is low on water. This safety feature prevents pumps from running dry and failing. (Mode A- Example 1)
