Good price fast shipping By DE on 3/3/2014DE would recommend this product to a friendWould have liked a slip bulkhead for 1.5 inch though
Great Strainer By Steven on 3/2/2014Steven would recommend this product to a friendGreat strainer for the price, and look a lot better than the long ones you will find at a local LFS. I would recommend getting a threaded strainer do to the fact that you can take it off for cleaning. It will decrease your flow a bit so make sure to plan for that. Only thing bad about it is that the slip strainers seem to be a bit of a tight fit for the pipes. The slip also fits inside of the pipe that it mentions for, so a 3/4 fits inside a 3/4 pipe.
Great Strainer But May Reduce Flow By Brandon on 1/30/2014Brandon would recommend this product to a friendThis is a great little strainer for the money. I ordered the 1" version thinking it would fit my 1" sch 80 piping but I was wrong...I had to reorder the 3/4" fitting...this fitting is being used on a Herbie Style overflow (though you could use a coupler to make it work).
Awesome product, but handle with care By Harry on 12/9/2013Harry would recommend this product to a friendGreat product. Does what it is supposed to. Handle with care though as I had to reorder the 1.5 inch one as it broke while handling the strainer part. Use the base at all times while threading it in!
Heavy Duty By WoodShop on 9/4/2013WoodShop would recommend this product to a friendFirst thought when i opened the USPS package.
"These aren't thin little cheep things"
"I hope they fit"
1st one fit fine, 2nd one i had to cut up a bit to make work.
No fault of the product, they were just too tall to fit into the space.
Dimensions on the site would have been nice.
But for so cheep, eh, who cares if it ends up not fitting.
Perfect By Oscar on 7/13/2013Oscar would recommend this product to a friendDoes the job and well made. I can't find these strainers at my local hardware store and I'm glad BRS sells it.
Does what its suppose to, as long as you do By GraysonReef on 6/14/2013GraysonReef would recommend this product to a friendI am running a 65g with 20g sump. 9.5 mag pump with 3/4 piping. I just started this hobby 3 weeks ago and took the plunge into building a reef tank. (total rookie)
These work as exactly as described, however, they do restrict waterflow. With that being said, it might be a good idea to upsize your drains if you are running a larger pump.
Quality is great and made of thick plastic. I tried cutting a few ribs off and had to get a good pair of pliers to do so.
Better than DIY By Starrme on 4/29/2013Starrme would recommend this product to a friendI like the look and I am happier with these than with my DIY netting/strainer, especially for the price. I do wish there was a 1.5" slip strainer available.
Nice By Warren on 4/23/2013Warren would recommend this product to a friendNice little strainer. Does the job
Just right By Trojan on 4/7/2013Trojan would recommend this product to a friendSo I am using these as a strainer for my dorso drain piping. It will secure the pipe from letting any of my critters going down the pipe.
Really Nice By Kevin on 5/2/2012Kevin would recommend this product to a friendHonestly there isn't much to say about a plastic piece that is a couple of dollars; but I will say that I am pleasantly surprised with how sturdy it is and how it feels like it is made quite well; it isn't a cheap product because it is cheaply made. If you are looking for a strainer, I would certainly recommend this one to anyone.
heavy duty strainers By Corbin on 3/29/2012Corbin would recommend this product to a friendStrainers are a must have in any tank that has living thing which move. These are excellent units and if you slip a block of foam over them they are perfect for a nursery tank. Placing anything in the way of water flow will slow it down, so make sure you've properly over-sized your drains.

Will the 3/4" slip strainer fit directly onto 3/4" PVC pipe, without adaptors?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Peter,
It sure would!

I have a 2 inch bulkhead without threads, need a strainer, what do I need?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Rick,
If you don't have threads in your bulkhead then you would want a slip trainer. Also, keep in mind that the sizes listed are nominal plumbing sizes, so a 2" strainer is for a 2" bulkhead, intended for 2" pipe, etc, but not a literal measurement of 2". Just make sure to double check the nominal size of the actual plumbing and it will fit just fine.
