I posted a few comments regarding a wish list for size and shape and was shocked when I received a call to discuss it and working to accommodate my request. Not only did he care about what I wanted he went into the warehouse to hand pick a piece for me. Total shock and awe customer service in this day and age of transactional purchasing.
When I received the box,packed perfectly and in tact, the rock was wayyy more than I could have imagined. It was exactly what I requested. BRS team you rock! Second order already placed! -

Rock came bubble wrapped and packed fulled of foam peanuts. Only breakage was a 1 inch piece. completely satisfied with my purchase. -

I didnt leave a comment asking for special pieces and i got the best huge shelves with a base i have ever seen. Laser would recommend this product to a friendI ordered the XL piece that came in measuring 34" x 18" Wide.Shelf was shipped and wrapped incredibly by BRS. I was able to cut it down in width by about 5 inches on each side and now have one XL piece and 2 smaller shelfs. Really a nice touch to finalize aquascaping. Excellent product!!!

do you have to cure or cook the rock before adding it to an established tank or is it safe to put in right away?

We would always recommend cycling any rock in a separate container before adding to an established tank so that you don't cause any cycling issues. -

The tonga rock is live rock that has been allowed to dry out.
Picking: If you are interested in the jumbo pieces, please specify your request in the comments area during checkout. Customer service will contact you for more details if required.
Shipping: Tonga Shelf can be fragile. BRS makes every effort to securely pack the Tonga Shelf. However, we have no control how UPS handles it and it may break during shipping. Unfortunately this is not covered by insurance so we are unable to replace broken pieces.
Dry live rock is not available for shipment to Canada due to high tariffs. Please consider Reef Saver rock as it is not subject to these fees and is our favorite of the dry rocks available.
Like all of our dry rock Tonga Shelf is free of nuisance algae and pests which can cause complete tank shut downs and is guaranteed to be free of apitasia, bubble algae, parasitic isopods, mantis shrimp, acro eating flat worms, little red bugs, fire worms, predatory nudibranchs, pyramidellid snails and other common pests.
Using Dry Rock has the following advantages:
