Easy to use, great system, great value By Santo on 10/6/2014Santo would recommend this product to a friendI have been with freshwater planted tanks for a long time. Finally, I started my reef tank, this system made it easy to setup and dose. It seems easier than my freshwater tank with discus!
Good stuff!! By Keith on 9/10/2014Keith would recommend this product to a friendThe product works great with the calculator. My corals are looking better everyday and I've only been using it over a week. The only problem I had was not reading the directions correctly for the Mag. You MUST add the powder before the water. I got used to the other mixtures and kinda went the same routine. I had to order more of the Mag Chlor and it cost me half the price as the whole kit with the shipping charge. Read the directions and you'll be happy.
Great Kit to Get Started By Chris on 7/22/2014Chris would recommend this product to a friendEverything you need to get started.... well minus the pumps. I would suggest those too right away. Might as well save the money. Consistent dosing is key and without the pumps, it's tough/a pain to keep up with it. Especially, if you're gone for a day or two. Quality, pure products which are hard to find (if at all possible) at a cheaper price. Go with BRS and you won't have to worry.
absolutely a great buy By Tommy on 5/30/2014Tommy would recommend this product to a friendI have to say that this kit, along with the great video provided on BRS tv, my inexperience doesn't show. My tank looks great my livestock is happy and corals comming along nicely.
Great Value By joesreeftank on 5/25/2014joesreeftank would recommend this product to a friendI did not realize you can so much product out of the 1 gal set, I thought I was buying one gallon for 79 bucks, turns out ill get about 5 gallons or more. It was easy to mix and came with everything you need!!
Stop searching....this is as cheap as it gets. By David on 5/20/2014David would recommend this product to a friendTried and true 2 part. About as cheap as dosing gets for a tank ready mix.
Easy 2 part system By KEVIN on 4/2/2014KEVIN would recommend this product to a friendAlways stayed away from 2 part because I thought it was complicated. This kit makes it simple and effective. You won't regret it

Nice and easy By Yellow sand on 2/24/2014Yellow sand would recommend this product to a friendI'm new to the hobby, and have to say this is one of the very few items I've had to purchase that actually had visual instructions. Very easy and simple to use thanks to the online calculator. Thanks BRS for making this nice and easy for us!

How many times would I be able to refill the jugs with each of these kits?
Bulk Reef Supply HI David,
Its a bit different with each, but assuming the 1g kit (large kit) there is 16 cups in a gallon so thats about 6 gallons of calcium chloride, 8 of the alkalinity solution and 3 of the magnesium solution but youll have some dry reagent left over.

Does the BRS 2 Part Calc & Alk Bulk you sell settle and have to be mixed or stirred daily/weekly? I run a doser and wondering if this would work with out adding a stirrer. Thanks.
Bulk Reef Supply Hey there,
Once mixed up they will stay homogenous. No need to constantly mix or shake them (though it wont have any negative effect either).

hi, i have a 300 g. tank is soft coral dominant, which 2 part do i need and what going to be the dosing to start I have a dosing pump tank you very much
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Rey,
The only difference between the Large and small is basically the amount of material included with the package. The total package small would likely be plenty for your tank to start with as your consumption won't be as high with the soft coral tank.

I am about to start dosing with this kit. My mg ca and kh are all low. Should I start with magnesium before dosing the 2 part?
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Nick,
That would be the best place to start.

I am using the BRS 2-Part system with great success. I am also dosing Red Sea coral nutrition (A,B). I am considering adding Red Sea coral color (A,B,C,D). Would this dosing program be compatible? Would there be any double coverage that I should be concerned about.
I am monitoring water quality with Salifert and Hanna.
150gal, fish, sps: 1.025(Red Sea Coral Pro), dKH 7.8, Cal 420, Mag 1,400
Bulk Reef Supply Hey Chris,
Thats not a problem at all. The only double coverage would be if you wanted to use the reef foundation ABC (as that is what the BRS two part basically is). The other components though (Coral Nutrition and Coral Color) don't overlap with the two part though.

When mixing your BRS 2 Part Calcium & Alkalinity Total Package, it states that I need to use filtered water for the calcium, magnesium and alkalinity but can I use R/O DI water for all 3 when mixing them up?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Sergei,
RO/DI water definitely qualifies as filtered water so that is not a problem at all and really the best option.
by fred on December 15, 2013, @4:32 PM
is there a reason why you only get two pumps with the 2 part mix,I think theres three jugs????
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Fred,
The magnesium is dosed far less often (usually months apart) and in a large enough quantity (20oz) that its actually easier to pour the solution then use the pump :-)
by Christopher on June 10, 2014, @5:30 AM
I know you mentioned that once mixed "they will stay homogenous. No need to constantly mix or shake them"; however, how long will this mix be usable? Will it 'go stale/bad' around a certain amount of time after being mixed? IE, how long do I have after mixing the solution before I'll have to use it or throw it away and mix new solution?
Bulk Reef Supply Hi Christopher,
Assuming your using RO/DI water and haven't accidentally contaminated your solution (for example spilled something in it) it will basically last forever. It won't oxidize and being such a simple solution it doesn't have anything to react with to go stale.
Use the BRS Reef Calculator to calculate dosage amounts. For more information on how to use the 2 Part Solution click here.
