Good Quality Magnesium Supplement! By Alex on 9/15/2014Alex would recommend this product to a friendLike all BRS supplements... this Magnesium supplement from BRS desolves clear and makes exactly 1 gallon. (no measuring)
Just add to 1-gallon of fresh RO/DI water and shake.
Very easy and good quality.

more than 10% Price increase since Nov 2012 By Join the revolution on 11/8/2013Join the revolution would recommend this product to a friendGood product. I am monitoring the price increases on this and other BRS items. Keeps Mg levels steady like other products. Value 4 out of 5 stars.
love it By ReefDVMs on 4/30/2013ReefDVMs would recommend this product to a friendLove it all ready mixed with both salts to make one gallon of magnesium up, just add water what could be better
Good Buy! By Thanh on 3/26/2013Thanh would recommend this product to a friendThis Mixes very easily. I used an old jug of Motts Apple juice and did exactly as directed filling 75% first and shaking it up real good then adding the rest of the RO water. When the mixture settled it came out clear, unlike the other stuff which came out cloudy(mag flake + epsom salt). The price is a little bit high, but I think it's very well worth it for lab grade Mg mix and piece of mind. The one gallon mix is very convenient also, just make sure to use a wide mouth funnel. Don't try and pour it in like the video. $10 for a gallon of Mg that could easily last 6 months... Easy to store.... Easy to mix... Piece of mind.

Once mixed and stored air tight-what's the shelf life?
What's the shelf life of the sealed mix?
Found a gallon container in storage and some misc mix sealed up from a couple years ago so just wanting to confirm.
Bulk Reef Supply Hey William,
Short of something contaminating it, it will basically last until the end of time :-) The magnesium(s) in particular are very hygroscopic though so don't be surprised if it has turned hard (or slushy depending on which product you have). Thats nothing to worry about though.
One bag mixes with water to create a gallon of solution.
This mix of magnesium chloride and sulfate is designed to be used in conjunction with the two part dosing system as part of standard parameter maintenance.
Maintaining proper magnesium levels will help prevent calcium and alkalinity from precipitating which makes maintaining these levels easier as well.
